Pakistan U19s lose warm up vs. England Author: Maaz; Views: 416; Date: 6-08-2012, 23:54;

Pakistan U19s lost the warm up ahead of the 9th youth world cup today by 5 wickets in Brisbane. Pakistan batted first and posted 281/6 with left handed middle order batsmen Saad Ali scoring a century at a timely pace. This has surely assured his place in the starting XI at least for the first half of the tournament. Babar Azam was dismissed for nought for the 2nd time on tour and Sami Aslam bagged another low score. Imam ul Haq, the one down left handed batsmen and nephew of Inzamam ul Haq made another half century and continued his impressive run of form, sharing a 4th wicket partnership with fellow left hander Saad Ali of 164, before Usman Qadir and Salman Afridi finished the innings with some lusty lower order hitting. The former hitting 3 sixes in his 18 ball stay for his 31 not out.

England chased down the total fairly comfortably courtesy of a fluent 2nd wicket partnership between star batsmen Daniel Bell Drummond and vice-captain Ben Foakes. The latter scored 133 from 119 deliverieswhereas the former got 91 from 78. Usman Qadir was the only Pakistan bowler to get 2 wickets, although he was relatively expensive.

Pakistan takes on PNG tomorrow.
