Gavaskar's Crawl

Gavaskar's crawl at HOC in the inaugural World Cup game. This day 1975. Blocked his way to 36 not out opening up as a protest against one day cricket. Gavaskar thought the score wasn't achievable and therefore used the chance to bat out time and have some extended time in the middle ahead of the following fixtures to be played. Gavaskar's sole aim was to last the course and remain unbeaten, regardless of what his team or the spectators thought of the painstaking grafting effort from the Indian opener.
