The 2013 ICC Champions Trophy is set to be launched in London on Wednesday. England one day captain and newly appointed test captain Alastair Cook will be in attendance with his side hosting the event after 9 years. ICC chief executive David Richardson and competition organiser Steve Elworthy will also be attending.
Former England captain and now well known commentator, Nasser Hussain will be the master of the ceremonies.
The 2013 Champions Trophy lasts 18 days with 15 matches to be played involving 8 teams across 3 venues.
The tournament will open with a fixture between India and South Africa at Cardiff on the 6th of June.
One group compromises of England, Australia, Sri Lanka & New Zealand.
The other group compromises of Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies & India.
Australia is the most successful side in this competition & has won the 2 previous competitions in South Africa & India respectively.
Shane Watson was the player the match in the final and Ricky Ponting was the player of the tournament during the previous one in 2009.
