Misbah for World T20 2014?

Not getting hopes up for Misbah fans. T20 tomorrow. With Aamir Sohail as selector, I think there is a decent chance that the Pakistan ODI captain might be included in the squad for the World T20 if he maintains his exceptional Twenty20 form or form in general. Sohail after the Champions League said the Wolves captain should make a national comeback in the shortest form of the game. Now as selector, he has the powers in his hands. 

Of course, he is the best t20/limited over batter in the country and the team will look a much stronger team with him in the T20 side rather than sat at home or in a studio. His non selection has nothing to do with skill, record or performance. Just giving him rest for the main formats and introducing new players and giving someone else leadership experience in a format where you can afford to experiment. If there is one format, you can possibly afford not to have him in, it is this one. That's why he is not in side only.

Logically it might not be the best idea to include him back in the side for this format as Hafeez has led well for last 2 years and it might be unfair to take captaincy away from him before a world event, even though it happened with Misbah in 2012. Also, it will be awkward to have the main captain playing in the team as a player, not that he is not a team man. But if you are going to select Malik etc then Misbah is a more deserving candidate without question.

Obviously, deep down for me and in an ideal world he should be captain for all 3 formats. If you had to select the best side for Bangladesh out of those still playing without considering anything else, he'd be the first choice as a batter and Captain more importantly. Leading in the World T20 would be a helpful experience ahead of World Cup next year. 

Pakistan as a team have a much higher chance of winning the World T20 than the World Cup next year given the conditions above anything. If Hafeez leads them to glory at the premier T20 championship, then obviously there will be calls to make him captain in the other formats which won't be best for Pakistan, especially with Misbah around. Anyone knows he is the better complete natural captain.
