Important IPL season coming up with the 2016 ICC World Twenty20 in India before the next IPL season comes around. Perhaps for that reason alone, the most important one of them all.
......................
Azhar - not considered a bad choice among the close followers of Pakistan Cricket. For seasonal fans his appointment comes as a bit of a shock.

Comments like "RIP Pakistan Cricket" are nothing short of disgraceful when reacting to his appointment.

He has 7 Test centuries, deserves to be respected. Centuries against England, Australia and Sri Lanka.

Like his predecessor, he averages over 40 in one day international cricket and List A cricket with a one day international best of 96 in the month of June.

It's a bit like Pujara or Murali Vijay becoming Indian one day captain. Players who are regulars in the longer form of the game.
.............
He throws a tantrum
Lots of friends and connections in the media
They sympathise with him and support him
They start campaigning for his selection
And that too based on performance in a completely different type of cricket

Blackmailing selectors. The next worst thing a player can do after match fixing?
If players are to be dropped on disciplinary grounds, he should be the first to go for his antics.

I never understood the argument that he was out of form, since when was he ever in form in this version of the game? It's a lack of ability. Not form.
