Crowe's Take

Former New Zealand Captain and one of the greats of his time in Martin Crowe who led the Black Caps at the 1992 Cricket World Cup in Oceania to the semi-finals, feels Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and West Indies will make the semi-finals of the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. He predicts a Southern Hemisphere victory in the 44 day mega event. The experienced observer of the sport, has stressed the importance of home advantage in today’s game.

Crowe feels sub continental sides will struggle in those conditions having watched India’s recent showings in New Zealand closely. It’s a year to ponder and as things currently stand this is his take on how the 14 team ODI trophy will pan out.

His quote on Pakistan’s chances:

“Pakistan are clearly a mess, again. With no Imran, Wasim or Miandad to inspire them, they will frustrate many, including the odd opponent. They are fine cricketers, just not a fine team. I have never understood their thinking, ever. Correction, with the exception of Imran in 1992.”
